A first-time guest at the Easter Festival, Vladimir Spivakov is one of his country's greatest virtuosos. Throughout his long career as a violinist, along with his remarkable experience as a conductor, he has performed in the greatest concert halls in the world, always retaining a predilection for the Russian repertoire and for German romanticism.
This evening's programme includes Brahms' tempetuous third sonata, Franck fascinating Sonata in A major and Stravinsky's sparkling Suite Italienne.
