Bertrand Chamayou, The Knights

Mozart, Schubert, Glass…

Friday 21 april - 20h30

Conservatoire Darius Milhaud

For its last concert, the New York-based ensemble The Knights comes together with Bertrand Chamayou. The pianist will tackle the music of Liszt, distilling some of his most visionary pieces where the impressionistic colours of Jeux d'eau à la villa d'Este will resonate, foreshadowing Debussy, along with the mysterious harmonies of La Lugubre gondola, in homage to Wagner.

As an ensemble that also favours a blend, The Knights revisit the Viennese repertoire with Haydn and Schubert. They will finish up the programme with contemporary music by Philip Glass and Gabriel Kahane, with hints of rock and Hollywood. A concert where excellence equates with surprise!
